About the Department
The Department of Statistics at Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantraodada Patil College, Tasgaon, started in June 1984 for first- and second-year B.Sc. students. By June 2013, it expanded to third-year B.Sc. students, and in June 2017, it started offering Master’s (postgraduate) degrees under Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Special Courses:
To help students build extra skills, the department offers:
- A certificate course in "Data Analysis using MS-Excel" for third-year B.Sc. and second- year B.Com students.
- A "Crash Course" to help third-year B.Sc. students prepare for entrance exams.
Facilities & Resources:
- Computer Labs: Two modern labs with 20 computers each for practical work.
- Classrooms: Equipped with smart interactive panels and digital learning (ICT) tools.
- Books: Over 170 reference books in the department library and more than 240 in the main college library.
